• Law Firm Content Marketing: How to Succeed in 2021

I must admit that today, I'm feeling a little motivated. Maybe it was the second cup of coffee. Or I watched a recent motivational video that got me pumped up and I'm just now thinking about it. Whatever the reason is, I wanted to take a few minutes and hopefully reach someone out there who is having a tough time with their professional lives in 2020. Here's one of the most important lessons I learned about persistence as an entrepreneur.

There's no doubt this year has been something not many expected to be going through. It certainly takes willpower and a tough mindset to get through such challenging times. As someone working in the world of law firm content marketing, even this industry has been hit by a lot of changes. By the fact that you're here reading this, it shows me you know there's something better out there for you. Thinking about these people, I wanted to share my views on how important it is to keep doing what you're doing.

Most people want lives that don't involve much of a struggle. After all, this makes perfect sense. Struggles aren't easy. However, there's often what we must do in order to get something great. Don't believe me? I promise, if you take a look at many successful and wealthy people, their beginnings didn't start this way.

So, what does this have to do with mountains? Picture the journey you're on right now as yourself climbing a mountain. This might be finding a new job, moving up in the you're in, starting a new business, any challenge you're going through. What will be it like to reach the top of this mountain?

If you want a true look at what it takes to be successful, imagine you reach the top and someone is up there waiting for you. As your hand reaches the top of this mountain, the foot of the person above is waiting to place all of his or her weight on your hand. It hurts. You're struggling to hold on from the pain and, in a matter of moments, that person has kicked you off the proverbial mountain of success.

Now, as you were climbing and seeing your path get shorter, it becomes a mile away in a matter of moments. What do you when this happens? From what I know, 90% of people will walk away from what they're working towards after a bad situation happens. What separates the successful from the people who walk away has to do with their frame of mind.

The 90% of people who quit during tough times take a bad moment as a lifelong label. They believe they're failures or that they can't make any more progress, both of which are lies. The 10% of people, on the other hand, will realize that setbacks are part of life and use what they've learned to move them back up that mountain, faster and smarter.

I've been on both sides of this situation. Walking away from your goals after one setback feels good in the moment. However, it won't take long before that momentary satisfaction is taken over by a lifetime of regret. Be brave and know that, after things don't go your way, you have new knowledge to climb that mountain and never let anyone catch you off-guard.
